Sacriston is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of Durham

Sacriston is a former mining village located approximately four miles north-west of Durham in the heart of County Durham. Rich in history and community spirit, the village developed during the nineteenth century around the coal mining industry, which played a significant role in shaping its character and identity. Although the mines have long since closed, Sacriston remains proud of its mining heritage, which is reflected in local landmarks and memorials throughout the village.
